Training Classes

• Classes for both Field Hockey and Soccer will start again in September See camp section for summer programs

Power Shooting
The key to shooting with accuracy and power is teaching players the correct biomechanical techniques to perform any type of kick. Players who are able to execute these mechanical aspects consistently with both feet, will gain the confidence to take risks, shoot with accuracy and maximum velocity under pressure. Many times a player has the physical strength to kick the ball hard BUT they do not possess the proper technique. With the technique improved they can grow into adult bodies and improve the shot.

The moves they will be learning are not specific to a forward position but are used by all players on all parts of the field.

DTS Goalkeeping Academy
A common sense approach to teaching all ages and abilities has been developed by Soccer Centers to provide quality instruction for the dedicated goalkeeper. Classes include technical and tactical development. We make it our priority to challenge the, mind as well as the body. This program provides an in depth look onto the finer points of goalkeeping fundamentals.

With the goalkeeper position being so demanding both physically and mentally, our goal is to exhort players to push themselves to the limit. This in turn will unleash each players strength and self confidence to perform confidently at the next level.

Goalkeeping I
Goalkeepers in the age of 8-10 will learn the basic principles of goalkeeping. The focus of this class is stance, catching, diving and distribution. The class will provide a lot of technique drills, goalkeeper games and finishing drills.  [ check schedule for next class ]

Next to the technique drills, goalkeeper games and finishing drills there will also be keeper fitness exercises added.  [ check schedule for next class ]

Strikers and Keepers
This is a double class. The goalies will be trained by a goalie trainer and will be tested by the forwards. Strikers will be taught in the art of scoring and to learn how to position themselves in front of the goal. Goalies at the same time will be learning how to defend their goal and take charge of the defense. This class will give you all the resources you need to work on your skills.  [ check schedule for next class ]

Soccer Academy
This class will help players refine their fundamental skills and introduce them to advanced techniques and tactics. Through many repititions, with emphasis on 1 vs 1 domination, power shooting and small sided games, weaknesses and strengths will be identified and prescriptive activities wil be introduced. Soccer Trainers and Coaches

In keeping with Soccer Centers philosophy our soccer coaches are hired direct from the Netherlands with degrees from the KNVB (Royal Dutch Soccer Association) or C.I.O.S. (Central Insitute of Sports Education). The C.I.O.S. Academy is a full time college where students are taught all aspects of the soccer game, from sports psychology to conditioning and from teaching young players to professional game analysis. The Soccer Centers coach is not only a coach, but a teacher, as well.

Each year 1200 aspiring coaches apply to the C.I.O.S. Academy and only 20 get admitted and out of that number only HALF will graduate from the school. Some of its graduates are world-class coaches; current South Korea's Head Coach Guus Hiddink is one of them. All coaches go through 3600 hours of field and class training at C.I.O.S.

Our soccer coaches are able to bring the right curriculum to each team and be able to make the players understand in a tactical manner the game they are playing Remember, our coaches are teachers.

The Dutch Training Method

Soccer Centers training camps are based on the Dutch philosophy of coaching, which is, founded on the premise that the player's ball control and tactical development will receive top priority in training. Players will be grouped according to ability to make their experience challenging and enjoyable.

This unique training course of training is far beyond the static regimented training environment that most players experience today. Technical and tactical instruction will be conducted through the application of small-sided games so that players will experience a training environment that replicates the real game. Under the watchful eye of our Dutch trained coaching staff, players will begin to know WHAT to do, WHEN to do it and HOW to do it at the technical and tactical speed that is required in the modern game.

Training exercises will be selected by taking into account the age and level of ability of these groups. Based on staff assessment and recommendation, individuals may be moved to high level groups with parent notification and approval.

Each camp is designed to help players achieve their maximum potential through progressive exercises that are age appropriate and individually and developmentally challenging. The basic method of training will focus on small side games, designed to help players improve their personal level of performance in the tactical, technical, and physiological areas of individual development.
